Collection: Soft Cigs

For established smokers, the tactile feel of the cigarette can often contribute to the experience. This is why some electronic cigarette (e-cig) manufacturers are trying to duplicate as much as they can the tactile components of the combustible cigarette.

For instance, NJOY is closely designed to imitate a traditional cigarette. The device has a faux gold ring, and a cartridge color and a tip that resembles glowing embers. It is the same size as a conventional cigarette and NJOY manufacturers are working to get device to weigh the same as a conventional cigarette.

In mimicking the feel and texture of conventional cigarettes, e-cig manufacturers are creating spongy and soft-tip e-cigs that feel “papery”. Real Feel E-cig as the name suggests is designed to feel like a traditional cigarette with a squishy instead of hard metallic ad. To convey this, an ad for Real Feel e-cig, which brands itself as “the only electronic cigarette that feels real” is of two fingers squishing the soft end of the e-cig. An ad for Viper e-cigs claims that the soft tip e-cig offers a “safer and more realistic alternative” to conventional cigarettes. In its promotional materials, Nfuse claims that its lightweight e-cig with a “soft filter” that will allow a user to forget that it is an e-cig. Mistic’s disposable line of e-cigs claims that its soft tip has a “paper-wrap texture of tobacco cigarettes ”that adds to the familiar feel.

At present, e-cigs don’t have the same feel or weight or fragrance of a conventional cigarette. However, manufacturers are working hard to replicate the feel and taste of the traditional product to make the vapor producing device all the more appealing to established smokers.
