Collection: Signs

Advertising and promotional signs are often one of the best ways to introduce a business to the public. Electronic Cigarette (eCig) companies promote themselves through signs and billboards that often espouse values of freedom and free living.

Many eCig brands promote the “Vaping Allowed” sign on their website. Some of the brands carry signs that explicitly state, “ vaping welcome on these premises,” other brands promote signs that promote dual use by showing a red no smoking sign alongside a green vaping okay sign. These signs also suggest that users of eCigs have the freedom to vape anywhere and freedom from smoke-free restrictions that apply to conventional tobacco products.

Many eCig brand websites advertise an adapted version of the extremely popular British slogan, “ Keep Calm and Carry On.” Most of these signs read, “Keep Calm and Vape on,” or “Keep Calm and Vape with Me.” The adapted version of the poster is intended to attract consumers and implore them to carry on (in this case vaping) through their troubles and against any threat of restriction. Some eCig brands also have created slogans that appeal to youth’s inclination to rebellion.
