Comments:

The four other boats sitting in the water carry only a colored dot as an insignia, and the women have their faces covered by their umbrellas. This contrasts with the last boat in line, the “True” boat, in which the woman’s face is fully visible and in conversation. The “other” cigarette brands, as the boats are meant to represent, invoke an instant feeling of mistrust due to their hidden features, whereas the True brand depicts itself as forthcoming, communicative, and honest with the consumer. Additionally, the dots on the other boats symbolize the ubiquity simplicity with which the “other” brands practice subterfuge at the expense of the smoker, distancing True from the reality of smoking’s health risks.
