This obliging man holds up his wife’s newest sewing creation as she trims the gown’s hem. She notices that he looks a bit aggravated, so she offers him an Old Gold to placate him. The ad was illustrated by Dorothy Monet (1919-2010), one of a small handful of female advertisement illustrators of the time.
