Dick Powell (1904-1963) endorses Lucky Strike in this advertisement, claiming that he “smoked pack after pack” during the rehearsal of his new movie, “but not once did they bother my throat.” The ad also serves to publicize his film, “Hollywood Hotel,” the production studio, Warner Brothers. On top of this, the ad also publicizes the new Lucky Strike radio program “Your Hollywood Parade,” in which he starred. Powell, who wore many hats in the entertainment industry, ranging from actor and singer to producer and director, passed away from lymphoma at the age of 58.
