Be careful of your throat.

Comments:

In this ad, Lorillard portrays Old Golds as a cold prevention tool during chilly winter months. The warning, “BE CAREFUL OF YOUR THROAT,” is written across an image of an elegant woman, her tuxedoed date, and their driver, standing happily and healthily in the snow. Old Gold admits that it is difficult to develop a taste for cigarettes, but insists that after a few packs, “everything is easy.” This statement attracts young consumers who have never before smoked, and assures them that any coughing problems are only due to inexperience.
