Here, two of Lucky Strike’s most popular ad campaigns are featured. One, “Reach for a Lucky Instead of a Sweet” superimposes attractive people and athletes with overweight “shadows” to encourage consumers to watch their weight by smoking a Lucky instead of eating candy when wanting a treat. The other, “It’s Toasted,” portrays the toasting technique of Lucky Strike as essential to ridding cigarettes of components that turn into throat irritation.
