Collection: Cloud Contests
Cloud contests are competitions often held at vape events or lounges that showcase the different technical and cloud-producing abilities of vapers. Certain competitions measure cloud size, while others measure the difficulty of different vapor tricks.
For pure cloud competitions, participants usually stand back to back and are given a set time to inhale from their vape or e-cigarette device. After the designated inhale period is finished, both participants will exhale their plumes into the air simultaneously, making it easy for spectators to compare the cloud sizes head to head. Winners are usually determined by a crowd vote or a panel of judges. Others will install markers next to the participants, making it easy to measure the size of each cloud as they are emitted.
Often times, prizes are awarded to winners of large scale cloud contests. Common prizes include cash, vape paraphernalia, and even e-cigarette sponsorships. Some vape companies, such as Fresh Juice Co., have been known to fly out top vape trick competitors to different Vape events and competitions in an effort to promote their brand.
Cloud competitions in general are an effective way for e-cigarette and e-liquid companies to gain exposure and promote the vaping industry. Examples from this category include Malaysia Vape’s “Master Cloud Chaser” competition and T-Shirt giveaway, an ad for their event that aims to create a strong sense of community between local vapers. Additionally, “The Vapor Spot” vapor bar in Sacramento advertises a vape meet and cloud competition, highlighting juice giveaways and drinks. Successful gatherings not only provide fruitful attendance, but also add a niche, competitive edge that augments the vape and e-cigarette culture as it continues to grow in the United States.
