Quote:

when smokers changed to Philip Morris, every case of irritation of the nose and throat due to smoking cleared up completely, or definitively improved.

Comments:

Johnny Roventini (1910-1998), the famous Philip Morris spokesperson, points toward large text which reads, “No ‘smoked-out’ throat for You—when you join Johnny’s Call for Philip Morris.” The false health claims abound: According to the ad, “distinguished doctors” have determined that Philip Morris cigarettes are less irritating than other brands, capitalizing on the public’s worries over smoking-related health conditions. Most ludicrous of all is the claim that Philip Morris was “proved” to be “safer for your nose and throat!”
