Ramleh was renamed Helmar in 1907 by James duke owner of Monopol Tobacco Works and S. Anargyros. He invested hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce colorful posters and advertisement with houris women holding but not smoking cigarettes and encouraging women to send cigarettes to men at war.
