Comments:

The hot red convertible along with Joe Camel’s cool attitude attract young males to this advertisement. The ad teaches young men, who may otherwise be inexperienced in cigarettes, where they can store their cigarette pack to appear as cool as possible. Here, Joe Camel closely resembles a character from the musical Grease, a popular performance piece for high school drama departments. Additionally, Joe Camel’s snout area, closely resembling a male’s enlarged reproductive organs, provide Joe Camel with machismo that counters any association between light cigarettes and women.
