This advertisement, clearly printed in newspapers and viewed by people who respect “newspaper men” claims that the majority of 431 staff members of ten New York and Chicago daily newspapers prefer Old Golds to the other leading cigarette brands in blind taste tests. In this “concealed name” cigarette test, each of the four leading brands has a “mask” wrapped over its brand name on the cigarette paper, so the smoker cannot see which brand is which.
