When billboard Rembrandts get too bold

Comments:

A couple walks down the street only to notice that someone has doodled on a Town Hall billboard which features the image of the man in the couple. He is shocked to see that the doodler has added a shocking mustache, wacky eyebrows, a miniature top hat, and a large pointing hand to his portrait. His female companion smiles and offers him an Old Gold in the hopes of easing the tension. The ad was illustrated by Dorothy Monet (1919-2010), one of a small handful of female advertisement illustrators of the time.
