Comments:

In this “Johnny on the Spot” ad, Johnny Roventini (1910-1998), the famous Philip Morris spokesperson, visits a farmer in the field. He leans against the fence and holds up a giant pack of Philip Morris cigarettes. Johnny tells the farmer that Philip Morris is “the ONLY leading cigarette scientifically proved far less irritating to the nose and throat.” This claim was intended to ease a worried public concerned about the negative health effects of smoking.
