Comments:

This ad, like all “Pleasure to Burn” advertisements, puts a modern twist on a vintage design in an attempt to attract the youth market of today. At first glance, the female singer appears to be a jazz diva from decades past, but upon closer examination, her helix ear piercings suggest she is very much a young, modern woman. Teens and young adults would respond positively to the “individuality” she displays. The Camel cigarette burning in her hand is not only made to be a contemporary accessory rather than a thing of the past, but is also connected to individuality and edginess thanks to the woman’s pieircings.
