Quote:

My work on the stage may appear easy to an audience but, as a matter of fact, it is very strenuous. now and then I indulge in a cigarette for relaxation and pleasure. I use Lucky Strikes, as I find they not only protect my voice but afford me the greatest amount of genuine enjoyment.

Comments:

Academy Award-winning actress Alice Brady (1892-1939) endorses Lucky Strike as a cigarette that will “protect my voice.” Lucky’s slogan, “Your Throat Protection” furthers this unfounded health claim. In Lucky’s later ads, a simple “it’s toasted” slogan was used to send the same message without blatantly making false claims. Brady passed away from cancer (of undisclosed type) before her 47th birthday.
