British broadcast journalist Boake Carter (1903-1944), most notable for his coverage of the Lindbergh kidnapping trial of 1932, endorses Lucky Strike as the cigarette ”my throat decided on.” Carter is In this ad, Lucky presents itself as a healthy cigarette, a “light smoke,” which is “easy on your throat.” Carter says that Luckies “don’t catch your throat,” and the copy text insists that consumers should seek the same “throat protection.” Carter passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 41.
