This ad features a picture of a couple smoking happily together, the woman playing suggestively with her collar. The Winston filtered cigarette is advertised here as having a “unique” filter which “works so effectively.” This is one of a series of ads printed upon the brand’s introduction in 1954. R.J. Reynolds seeks to attract new customers by utilizing such a chic, professional couple smoking Winstons, coupled with the phrase, “No wonder filter smokers are flocking to Winstons!”
