Just one more

Comments:

This man walks his elegant date back to her door and asks for “Just one more” kiss – or is it just one more cigarette? Her shapely body and rosy cheeks speak to her healthfulness, while the flowing gown and the high-collared fur shrug speak to her extravagance, her affluence, and her luxurious lifestyle. The advertisement capitalizes on the general public’s desire to feel luxurious during the financial hardships of the Great Depression, and the man’s fixation on the woman would be enviable to any viewer of the ad.

Artist: Hayden Hayden, a pseudonym for Howard Crosby Renwick. In the 20s, 30s, and 40s, Renwick illustrated ads for countless products, as well as magazine covers and pin-up posters. He was known for painting girls with rosy cheeks who portrayed beauty, elegance, and a wholesome choice in men.
