Quote:

A young man in a marrying mood doesn't reply on any other fellow's taste. He makes up his own mind. And that's the way to pick any pal even the cigarette you smoke. There are many good cigarettes. If your present brand suits you stick to it. But if you're not quite sure, you might try Old Golds. Maybe this ultra-mild, honey-smooth cigarette will click with you but Old Gold wants you to let your own taste decide.

Comments:

The copy text explains, “A young man in a marrying mood doesn’t rely on any other fellow’s taste,” comparing a man’s choice in cigarette to his choice in blushing bride. The fresh flowers bring life and health to the bride’s face, and, just as the cigarette is touted to be “honey-smooth,” she, too, appears to be so. The woman pictured here is dressed in a white wedding gown and veil, exuding purity. Her purity is reflected in the final comment referring to Old Gold cigarettes as “PURE (No artificial flavoring).”

Cool, Domesticity, Female, Marriage, Mild
