This advertisement features a woman sensuously sprawled out on the floor above text that reads, U.S. Government figures show Pall Mall Gold 100s now lower in “tar” than the best-selling filter king.” The association between the word “figures” and the woman’s hourglass figure is striking. While the Pall Mall Gold 100’s are being advertised as healthier (in response to erroneous FTC studies showing lower mortality rates associated with lower tar and nicotine levels), they are also being advertised as sexier.
