All America is now smoking this pleasing Turkish Blend must be that it gives better satisfaction. Have you had the pleasure?
Fatima was part of the Turkish Blend “movement” which often featured advertisements illustrating exotic, suggestive women. This veiled woman looks to be a fortune teller in a booth, predicting that Fatimas will be the best smoke for you. The images in the ads are bright, colorful, and enticing. The woman depicted here wears a turban and a veil and gently holds a peacock feather fan bearing the crescent and star of Islam. The advertisement is rich in imagery. The Turkish crescent moon with star appears twice – once on the fan, and again on her forehead. Beneath the star and crescent on her forehead is an iron cross, both a symbol of the Ottoman empire, and, in 1914, a military award for the Kingdom of Prussia and the German Empire. Fatima targeted older men and possibly by using terms like “satisfaction” and “pleasure.”
