This comic advertisement depicts a man enjoying his trip abroad in Paris until he runs out of Old Golds and discovers they can only be found in America: “Only six weeks of coughing ahead of me!” he wails. On the right, a simple crossword puzzle is presented, almost all of the clues pertaining to Old Gold cigarettes. The comic, part of a small book, was illustrated by Clare A. Briggs (1875-1930).
