Comments:

This advertisement claims that of those people who responded to a radio poll after comparing the four leading cigarette brands in a blind taste test, 49% prefer Old Golds.. In this “concealed name” cigarette test, each of the four leading brands has a “mask” wrapped over its brand name on the cigarette paper, so the smoker cannot see which brand is which. It is well known that statistical data retrieved in this method, with the survey responders self-selecting, for example, after listening to a radio show, is not reliable. However, this ad also markets Old Gold’s radio show, Paul Whiteman’s Old Gold Hour, to consumers.
