Comments:

This young U.S. Navy Petty Officer sidles up to his equally young date, only to snap the chain on the swinging couch, causing them to tumble to the floor. His female companion looks surprised, but the officer takes the opportunity to get closer, offering her an Old Gold to relax her into his arms. The ad was illustrated by Oskar Barshak (1904-1995) who was very active as a print-ad illustrator in the 1940s.
