Comments:

A waiter accidentally dumps a plate of spaghetti upside-down in front of a military man. He and the waiter both look distraught, but his date looks calm and in control as she offers the service man an Old Gold to ease the irritation. The man is pictured in his U.S. Army uniform with a single chevron insignia on his arm, indicating that he is a Private, First Class. “Keep on buying war bonds,” the text says in tiny writing at the bottom of the page, providing extra patriotism to the ad. Additionally, the copy text references the WWII cigarette shortage, during which it was difficult to find certain brands on a regular basis.
