Comments:

This celebrity endorsement from British actor Leslie Howard (1893-1943) focuses on the” benefits” provided by a “light” cigarette for an actor in protecting his voice. The copy text explains that the consumer should seek this “same throat protection” for himself. Light cigarettes are falsely advertised here as as protecting “against irritation” and “against cough.” He often starred in and directed anti-Nazi propaganda videos, which demonstrates his power over an audience and may account for his untimely death; in 1943, his aircraft was shot down by a maritime fighter craft.
