Comments:

The couple pictured sits outside of the famous Lago Mar Hotel and Apartments at Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida. The woman wears an expensive playsuit designed by respected designer and screen printer Brooke Cadwallader (1895-1966), one of the leading fashion designers at the time. Her well-coiffed poodle pooch acts as one of her many accessories, her Old Gold cigarette another. She looks into the eyes of the man next to her as she holds up her cigarette to his lighter. Old Gold cigarettes seek to attract women by associating the cigarettes with this relaxed, luxurious, and romantic vacation feeling. The woman is clearly on the cutting edge of fashion and would attract women to the advertisement. They would not only want her playsuit, advertised below, but they would also want her pooch and her Old Gold cigarettes.
