Quote:

A nest feathered with Parliaments? Just the thing to charm a lady! For as every smart smoker knows, there's so much that's irresistibly special about Parliaments. Surely you, too, will appreciate the crush-proof cigarette case the superb tobaccos the luxurious flavor and above all, the exclusive Mouthpiece that keeps the filter deeply recessed away from your lips. With Parliaments, only the favor touches your lips!

Comments:

The woman in this ad wears a beautiful blue, taffetta ballgown with matching jewelry and a large, blue, decorative beauty mark on her cheek. She holds a box of Parliaments in her oversized, gloved hand. Her date smokes a Parliament and looks at her longingly, as she looks out toward the reader of the magazine with a tempting glance. The grand birds rest in a birdcage made of cigarettes and wear pearls around their necks, making them overtly feminine. The feminine birds are happily perched within the confines of the Parliament cigarettes, indicating that women, too, would love to be controlled by Parliaments. The slogan, “only the flavor touches your lips!” markets Parliaments as a cigarette with a unique recessed filter, which also speaks to the slogan, “You’re so smart to smoke Parliaments,” as the filter was advertised as making Parliaments a safer, more conscientious cigarette.
