Experience is the best teacher in playing table tennis or choosing a cigarette, says Mary Reilly International Table-Tennis Star.

Comments:

Mary (Reilly) McIlwain, famous table tennis player, provides the athletic endorsement for this Camel advertisement in the 1940s. She is shown playing table tennis in a variety of impressive contortions, and a large photo of her shows her smoking a Camel and explaining that Camels were her favorite cigarette after experiencing many brands during the “wartime shortage.” This ad stresses Reilly’s athletic skill and subliminally ties this skill in with smoking Camels. The ad also includes the “T-Zone” campaign as well as the “More Doctors Smoke Camels” campaign.
