Comments:

The woman in this advertisement places the cigar in her mouth in a sexually suggestive manner. A man asks her, “Agnes, have you seen my Don Diegos?” indicating that though Don Diegos are not intended for women, they excite a sexual appeal that women cannot resist. At the bottom of this ad, the text advertises “The Playboy Cigar,” which would be debuted later that year. The Playboy cigar was was commissioned as an extension of the Don Diego brand by the famous men's entertainment magazine, Playboy, famous for their nude “centerfolds.” The text, “Coming soon…” is sexually explicit as well, and ties in subliminally with the image of the woman and the association with Playboy.

Keywords:

Female, Playboy, sex appeal, Youth
